I am looking for the SCHEE / SCHEES surname in Switzerland. My gggg-grandfather, James SCHEE was born somewhere in Switzerland 4 December 1805 and died in 1879 at Coles Illinois. He was Educated in Genoa, Italy, came to the US about 1826 and in 1827 married Harriet SAPP (born 14 February 1806 in Delaware, died 15 September 1890). They lived in Dover, Kent County Deleware and moved to Illinois (Coles County?) about 1854.

The six children of James SCHEE and Harriett SAPP included John Manna SCHEE born 11 April 1828 in Dover, Kent County Delaware, died 1888 in Coles, Illinois. In 1862-1864 he was in the US Civil War with the 79th Infantry, Company E, Illinois and became a prisoner at Andersonville, Georgia. He was a farmer and married Elizabeth Ellen THOMPSON (born in Indiana) on 25 August 1851. Others were James SCHEE, Mary SCHEE, Garrett SCHEE, William SCHEE and Castilda SCHEE. There were SCHEE's living in Delaware and PA prior to the arrival of James SCHEE. I would like to know if he was related to them. I would like to contact anyone with the SCHEE surname in Switzerland or other countries.
