I am looking for information on Magdalena (Margaret) LUCHSINGER. I believe her parents were David and Anna LUCHSINGER. She had a sister, Ursule, who immigrated to Minnesota before her and married a Mr. MEYER. Margaret married Henri MEYER at St. Petric Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1905. Their children were Vera born in 1911, Heinrich, David, Carl and Gloria (born about 1930). Ursule brought Margaret to Minnesota after their brother, David, was killed in a rockslide in Switzerland. Margaret was arranged to marry Heinrick MEYER immediately upon arrival to Minnesota. Any help would be appreciated.

I am researching my branch of the LUCHSINGERS in Switzerland. My great-great-great-grandfather, Adam LUCHSINGER (born 16 August 1830 in Switzerland, died 11 January 1896 at Rochester, New York) and his wife, Christina Dorethea LEMPERT (born July 1823 or 1829 in Switzerland, died 26 December 1902 at Rochester, New York). They emigrated from Switzerland to America in 1866. They had a son, Mathias, born 7 June 1856. He did not come to the United States until 1876. I am trying to find the parents of Adam and Christina and a town in Switzerland where they lived (most likely the canton of Glarus). I am also trying to find out who took care of Mathias while his parents were traveling and living here. I believe that they were Catholics, but I am not sure. That is the religion that my grandfather practiced. Christina had a brother Bernard. He also immigrated to Rochester, New York and then went on to Ohio. I do have a possible link to Adam's father, but this is pure speculation. There was an Adam LUCHSINGER, born in 1804, who died in an avalanche in 1836 at Muehlebach. If he were my Adam's father, he would've been 26 at the time of his birth, so the dates make it a possibility. My Adam would've been 6 at the time of his father's (?) death. If this were my Adam's father, then his mother would've been Anna STRUB of Schwanden. His brother would've been Peter LUCHSINGER in Spicher. If the Adam LUCHSINGER (who died in the avalanche) was my great-great-great-great-grandfather, then my Adam would've had a brother named Peter who died on 8 August 1854 as a soldier in Naples. My grteat-great-grandfather, Mathias LUCHSINGER, married Catherine SCHNEIDER (born 1857, died 1886), from Alsace Lorraine. It is believed that they married before coming to the US. She had two siblings, George (born 1852, died 1918), and Julia (born 1864, died 1920). Julia married a Simon BARTHELMANN (born 1860, died ?). Does anyone know of any of these people and connections between them?
